H.- 9 3/4 in., W.- 13 7/8 in., D.- 9 3/4 in.

  • Notes: Described as proprietors of ebenisterie de luxe, the atelier of Tahan participated in many of the major exhibitions between 1849 and 1867, winning a silver medal in 1849 and a Medaille d'or in 1867.

There is loss to the top area, back corner of inlay is coming up as well. The top right corner is missing bronze inlay border. The lid has difficulty closing, but it does open and close. There is warping visible to the right side of case and left side has cracking to veneer exterior. There is a large crack along base of case. Two of the decanters have alcohol present and some glasses have residue and loss to gilding. All glassware could benefit from a cleaning, missing 2 of the 16 glasses and one is broken, so only 13 are present. Handsome example of Tahan/Boulle work.
