Set of Thirteen French Ceramic Artichoke Plates, 20th c., by Gien, Dia.- 9 1/4 in.


  • Condition: Condition consistent with age and use. Several of the plates have shallow surface chips on the raised rim of the artichoke well in the center and the raised rim of the sauce well on the side. One plate also has a few fleabite chips on the underside of the outer rim and some hairline cracks in the glaze on the back of the plate. Several of the plates have 1/4" diameter brown spots under the glaze on the rim of the artichoke and sauce wells. One plate has a sticky reddish brown substance throughout the underside. An attractive set.
