Two Unusual Gilt and Patinated Bronze Table Crucifixes, early 20th c., one on a stepped alabaster base; the second on a stepped green onyx base, Alabaster- H.- 9 1/2 in., W.- 4 1/2 in., D.- 4 3/8 in.


  • Condition: Condition consistent with age and use. Light patina and flea-size chips are noted throughout both examples. Alabaster- An approximate 1 cm chip is seen in the bottom edge. An approximate 1 1/2 cm chip is noted in the socle below the cross. Grey discoloration is noted on the back near the base. Moderate wear is seen to the decoration on the base. Green Onyx- White residue is seen in the crevices of the figure. Heavy wear is observed to the gilt on the cross and base. Grey discoloration is noted throughout the back.
