Unusual American Blown Glass and Cast Iron Double Inkwell, late 19th c., with two blown art glass snail form inkpots pivoting under a pen holder, over a pen tray with traces of original polychrome decoration, H.- 4 in., W.- 8 5/8 in., D.- 5 3/4 in.


  • Condition: Condition consistent with age and use. Heavy wear throughout base, with traces of paint remaining. Flea-size chips along the rims of the inkwells. One approximate 1 cm chip on the interior rim of one example. Residue on the interiors. Light rust on the bolts. One bolt on the bottom interior of the frame lacking. A flea-size white spot on the side of one bottle. An intriguing piece.
